‘Where we are…’ is a dynamic UK-wide initiative aimed at empowering young people through the co-creation of local arts and cultural projects. Supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, this programme is designed to involve those who have been traditionally underrepresented in the museum sector.
The programme operates through a partnership model that includes the British Museum, local museums or cultural organisations, third sector entities, and the youth. Each year, UK museums and third sector organisations are invited to apply as a partner, who will then play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering community-responsive arts and cultural projects
Voyage is one of these key partners. Together, Voyage works with museums, ensuring that decision-making is inclusive and reflective of the young participants’ insights, and ensuring that the voices of young people are heard and understood. Working on this project, Voyage has amplified the voices of young people of colour, giving them the unique opportunity to share their insight and contribute towards the world of art and culture.
