Become a Voyage Environmental Ambassador
Are you passionate about the environment and eager to make a tangible impact? Do you want to amplify the voices of young Black and global majority communities in London? If so, Voyage invites you to join our team of Environmental Ambassadors (VEAs)!
Programme Overview
The VEA programme is a year-long commitment (September to August) designed to enhance your CV and community credentials, helping you overcome challenges to accessing school, college, university, and employment opportunities. This programme also provides valuable work experience while highlighting the disproportionate effects of climate change on Black communities. This isn’t just about research—it’s about taking action!
As a VEA, you will:
- Learn: Dive deep into existing research and conduct your own studies on how climate change affects our communities.
- Engage: Attend monthly network gatherings, developmental workshops, and other events to connect with like-minded individuals and work as a cohesive team.
- Influence: Use your findings to inform and influence national policies, ensuring that the needs of global majority communities are front and center in environmental strategies and policy design.
- Share: Make your findings public through reports, social media, and contributions to local and national press.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking young people aged 15-21 from Black and global majority communities in East London who are passionate about the environment and eager to make a difference. No prior expertise is required—just a strong interest and drive to learn and contribute!
Commitment
To ensure the success of this programme, we ask that you:
- Attend monthly in-person meetings (2 hours).
- Dedicate around 3 hours a week to research and project activities.
- Be available to participate in events and talks that will deepen your understanding and engagement.
