As a charity of the Metropolitan Black Police Association (MetBPA) we are based in the metropolitan area of London. As our programmes have proved successful in London we are looking to expand our reach and would welcome approaches from other areas of the UK. As we move from being a London-based initiative towards national delivery of training and qualifications, we will be looking for potential partners for our courses and workshops.
YLfSC has been focused in areas that experience high levels of youth violence and antisocial behaviour, and includes Enfield, Haringey, Hackney, Croydon, Newham, Lambeth, Southwark, Wandsworth, Camden, Islington, Brent, Lewisham, Waltham Forest and Westminster.
Know your rights and Violent Crime workshops and Horizons programmes have been run in these boroughs and in many local schools and institutions.
Young people are referred to the VOYAGE programme via schools, youth clubs and local Youth Offending Teams.
VOYAGE is predominantly aimed at young people aged between 14-19 from Black and Minority Ethnic communities. However, the Know Your Rights and Violent Crime seminars are delivered to teenagers irrespective of ethnicity and often via whole school engagement days.
